DMD appoints Mark Gleason chief operating officer

Rosemont, Ill., March 30, 2012—DMD, a national leader in connecting health care practitioners to professional information sources through comprehensive database deployment services, today announced the promotion of Mark Gleason as chief operating officer.

In his new position, Gleason will oversee business operations, while continuing to advance the company’s medical publishing and digital marketing business.

Gleason joined Aptilon Corporation, which acquired DMD in 2009, as a senior vice president of corporate development in 2006 and, subsequently, became an executive committee member. Prior to his position with Aptilon Corporation and DMD, he was a principal of HyGro Group, Inc., a strategic growth consultancy, pioneering new strategies and services in electronic marketing and physician engagement. He consulted for Bristol-Myers Squibb, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Searle Pharmaceutical, SmithKline Beecham, and Allscripts.

Additionally, Gleason has been a regular speaker and writer on new, pharmaceutical marketing models, including pioneering strategies and studies on the applications of e-detailing, e-sampling, and alternative sales channels.
